Job Summary



The Human Resources Supervisor will have functional responsibility for the training and development role within the organization. They will also oversee the full administration of the companies short- and long-term disability programs, assisting in early and safe return to work, retraining where required and development of policies and procedures supporting the company's philosophies regarding the administration of the disability programs. He/she will also participate in the development and implementation of policies, programs, and procedures regarding human resource planning, recruitment, occupation classification and compensation and benefit administration. The Human Resources Supervisor will work within the team to assist with development of employment programs, job evaluations, and equal opportunity initiatives.

Job Duties



Maintain the company's current training systems, documentation and electronic tracking systems

Develop strategies for identifying training opportunities

Work with various departments to identify skills gaps and source appropriate training solutions, from a production line level through to a management and leadership level

Administer employee development through the creation of action plans, performance improvement plans and succession planning.

Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs regarding training and development

Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation.

Assist with new employee onboarding, review, recommend and develop new onboarding solutions as required

Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination/resignation.

Take a lead role in developing partnerships with local educational institutions, identifying and implementing a strong co-op recruitment program.

Administration and oversight of all apprenticeship programs

Management and administration of the companies short- and long-term disability programs in partnership with our benefit program provider

Assist employees in an early and safe return to work analyzing the best place for them to be scheduled and the tasks they will be assigned, handle retraining as required

Maintain all required paperwork and documentation required

All Human Resources employees must assist with recruitment during peak recruitment season, this could include assisting with screening resumes, conducting interviews, placing phone calls and any other recruitment tasks required.

Requirements



A bachelor's degree in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or psychology will be preferred.

Completion of a professional development program in Human Resources required.

5 years of Human Resources experience in a management role required.

Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization.

A self-starter with a high degree of initiative.

Experienced in all aspects of recruitment and training and development.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

Well-developed coaching and leadership skills, both on a formal and informal basis.

Ability to develop and implement strategies.

Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.

Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and internet required.

Excellent time and project management skills.

Attention to detail in all areas of work.

Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.

Motivated individual with proven initiative.

Professional appearance and manners.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
