Human Resources Partner

Aversan Inc. ( ) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration and Software Testing for industries including Digital Health, Medical Devices, IT and Aerospace. We are currently seeking a qualified Human Resources Partner. The successful candidate for this full-time position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.

Location: Toronto, Ontario
Schedule: Hybrid, 7 month contract

DESCRIPTION - The HR Partner provides Employee Relations and HR Engagement support to managers, ensuring that employees have a diverse, interesting and motivating experience throughout their careers within the Group. The role will be responsible for the support and delivery of cyclical HR Campaigns and Projects that are well executed, relevant and educational. Shaping employee experience and engagement, to move it from being a process to \'coming alive\' as an interactive career-development experience. The role will also support employee investigations and help build a high performing culture.
Responsibilities

  • Acts as a key partner for the business and HRBPs advising on first line employee and manager queries
  • Provides proactive outreach and support to people managers on HR policy interpretation, coaching, educating employee population, program related issues including performance management, performance improvement plans, compensation queries, etc.
  • Conducts voluntary exit meetings, gathers information and ensures exit procedures are followed
  • Support the prompt resolution of employee relations issues for employees and recommend proactive measures to minimize related matters - this includes handling disputes, escalated disability case management, ergonomic assessments, accommodations and investigations into any policy or code of conduct breaches.
  • Supports leave cases that result in ER matters, including ensuring that managers and Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) are kept well informed of all cases and their status
  • Delivers and provides support for HR programs, activities, policies, procedures and compliance including: Employee Relations, Employee Onboarding, Leave of Absence coordination, Template and Documentation Harmonization and support, system inquiries and support, creation/maintenance of documentation and content on the intranet.
  • Works closely with the HR Shared Services teams to ensure successful delivery and implementation of HR Projects e.g. campaigns, change activity and system implementation etc.
  • Provides implementation support to change programs and initiatives (Group Initiatives, COE-led projects, Strategic HR-led projects (typically OD type activity and executive-led business improvement projects e.g. GBU Reorganizations).
  • Supports and maintains consistency across the business for all HR activities and proactively monitors progress and acts upon it to ensure successful execution of the relevant campaign and deadlines
  • Supports the team as needed with the day-to-day compliance of policies and queries related to legal cases and investigations
  • Participates as a member of the larger HR team, in collaboration with HRBPs, HR Operations and COE\'s to pursue and contribute to HR team objectives, projects and improvement initiatives
  • Supports initiatives such as: Reward & Recognition program, Employee Engagement Survey; Top Employer Award, Service Award Program , Take your Kids to Work Day (including tracking and administration of programs)
  • Assists on Special Projects as required: project, change management and communications for HR programs/activities
  • Other duties as needed within HR
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years\' experience in HR or related field
  • Knowledge of employment standards and human rights legislation for Canada and USA
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and difficult issues professionally and in a confidential manner
  • Ability to provide informal coaching to individuals at all levels and influence as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes
  • Action oriented individual, who demonstrates high accountability, sound judgment and decision making abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with HRBPs, COEs and customers at all levels, while taking a proactive approach to customer service and building strong relationships
  • Possess a sense of accountability and urgency
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is an asset
  • Working knowledge of employment practices and law in Canada and the Unites States of America is an asset
