Tasks

Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures Identify current and prospective staffing requirements Provide information or services, such as employee assistance and counselling Prepare and post notices and advertisements Collect and screen applicants Advise job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment Review candidate inventories Contact potential applicants to arrange interviews Recruit graduates of colleges, universities and other educational institutions Co-ordinate and participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures Negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes and co-ordinate termination of employment process Determine eligibility to entitlements and arrange staff training Supervise personnel clerks performing filing, typing and record-keeping duties Recruit and hire staff Train staff Respond to employee questions and complaints Plan, develop and implement recruitment strategies Oversee the preparation of reports Oversee development of communication strategies Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers Manage contracts Manage training and development strategies Establish and implement policies and procedures Conduct performance reviews Coaching Oversee payroll administration Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants Advise senior management Oversee the analysis of employee data and information Review HR projects to assure compliance with laws and regulations Plan and organize daily operations Motivate staff Evaluate daily operations Direct staff Direct and control daily operations Coordinate the activities of the HR department in order to ensure they meet the organization's goals Assign projects to subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relations
