About this opportunity:
Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99s New Grad Program aims to attract, develop and retain exceptional new grads to build a top talent pipeline for the company. The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99s core business through challenging work assignments, training and development, field exposure and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities.


Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99s varied business areas. Upon completion of the three-year program, you will be matched to a permanent role within the organization. This role will be based on business need and relocation may be required.


Within the HR Function, you could gain exposure to multiple teams, including but not limited to: Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Diversity and Inclusion, Learning and Development, Pension and Benefits, HR Services, HR Business Partner, and Talent Management.

Responsibilities:

  • The responsibilities will vary depending on business unit, but may include:

  • Provide timely and accurate transactional support for employee life cycle events through partnering with the business and internal HR teams

  • Provide excellent customer service support both internally and externally to HR

  • Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to support HR program administration and initiatives

  • Maintain knowledge of organizational and departmental policies and procedures to be able to answer general employee and leader inquiries, while adhering to Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99s values and practices

  • Assist with the creation of materials related to HR procedures and policies (e.g. process documentation FAQs, quick-reference cards etc.)

  • Support HR processes such as annual compensation cycles, performance and development reviews, benefit enrolment and others

  • Participate in projects to develop, review and improve HR processes

  • Maintain personnel files, data requests, and any compliance-related information

Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Available to begin work June 2023

  • Post-secondary degree with strong preference for Human Resources, Business, or Management degree obtained by May 31, 2023 and completed within the last 2 years (2021, 2022 or 2023).

  • Previous experience within HR inclusive of summer co-op/internships is an asset

  • Desire to pursue a long-term career within the energy sector is an asset
