Human Resources Manager Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager is accountable for all human resources functions pertinent to the site, including employee relations, performance management, site communications, investigations, corrective actions, Workforce Planning, coaching leaders, payroll support and administration of the collective agreement and labour relations. The HR Manager reports to the Director of Human Resources, Consumer Health Canada and will lead a team of HR professionals.   • Provide consultation and coaching on a full range of HR functions, e.g., employee relations, recruitment & retention, performance management including corrective action, discipline and conflict resolution, career development, objective setting, mentorship and succession planning. Will facilitate change and transition.
  • Provide partnership, leadership, counsel and expertise to enable business leaders to drive business outcomes through highly engaged and high performing teams.
  • Partner closely with business partners to focus on employee engagement, drive talent management initiatives and leading change.
  • Responsible for the negotiation and implementation of collective agreements. Will provide guidance and counsel to leaders across the business regarding collective agreement interpretation and administration. Responsible for the grievance process including representing the Company at Step 3 grievance meetings and Arbitration hearings.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control or coordinate personnel, training and labour relations activities of the organization. Develop and execute HR and labour relations policies.
  • Actively involved with special projects relating to key HR and/or organizational initiatives
  • Develop and provide customized supervisory training and development to assist supervisors in dealing with labour relations and related issues. Coach and mentor supervisors and peers on various day-to-day issues.
  • In collaboration with the Director of HR and Site Leadership; guide and facilitate change in organizational culture and/or values consistent with business strategies.
  • Other duties as required.

The Candidate:
  • College Diploma or Bachelor?s Degree in related field. i.e. Business Administration, Human Resources required
  • Completed CHRP/CHRL or demonstrated progress towards certification (HR certificate but haven?t gotten the accreditation)
  • Minimum of 8+ years working in a Senior HR capacity and resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource disciplines inkling compensation practices, payroll, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and provincial employment laws.
  • Labour and employee relations experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical or GMP facility a plus.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage continually changing and challenging circumstances in an organize, efficient and calm manner.
  • Ability to identify, manage and resolve conflict through effective communication and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and achieve results.
  • Experience in budgeting and proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated. Takes initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Superior computer literacy using MS Office ? Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel between Ontario sites may be required.
  • While performing responsibilities of the job, employee is required to talk, hear, sit and manipulate keys on a keyboard. On occasion, will stand, walk, reach, bend or twist, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities require close vision. There is the potential exposure to chemicals.
