Zazamint is a growing luxury lifestyle company with three business areas: high-end events, media publishing, and consumer goods (xylitol gums and mints). We are building our foundation and looking for our first Human Resources leader.
The Role
We are hiring a
Human Resources Manager
to establish and manage all HR functions from the ground up. This is a full-time role where you will work closely with the founder to recruit top talent, implement HR systems, and ensure compliance. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our workplace culture, driving engagement, and building processes that support growth.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage recruitment strategies to attract top talent across events, media, and consumer goods
Build HR systems, including contracts, onboarding, payroll, and compliance processes
Support performance management, culture initiatives, and employee engagement
Advise leadership on HR best practices, compensation, and organizational planning
Manage employee relations, including addressing concerns and fostering a positive workplace
Continuously improve processes and programs to support a growing organization
Ensure compliance with Ontario ESA and employment regulations
Use HR tools (ATS, payroll systems, HRIS) to track data and support decision-making
Qualifications
3+ years of HR/People leadership experience (ideally in startups or fast-paced environments)
Experience setting up HR systems and policies from scratch
Strong knowledge of Ontario ESA and HR standards (CHRP/CHRL is an asset)
Familiarity with ATS or HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Dayforce, ADP) is a plus
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation
Salary: $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience
