Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:


The HR Manager, Canada (HRM) is responsible for providing strategic HR support and consultation to assigned business units. The HRM assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and serves as a consultant to management with responsibility for employee relations, performance management, compensation planning and implementation, as well as day-to-day HR duties. HRM will also lead and support a variety of Project Management responsibilities. Responsibilities:

Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with Head of Bayview Canada, management team and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Partners closely with leadership team to address global issues and create solutions for positive business impact.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Assists managers and employees in resolving employee relations issues.
  • Provides creative solutions to address HR challenges and implications to the organization and business strategies.
  • Provides compensation guidance to managers and supports annual compensation planning process.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit workforce planning and restructures.
  • Provides performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions).
  • Partners with the Leadership and Development team to provide expertise and leadership in organizational development, employee and leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Assist the business unit in identifying their training needs within their department(s) and partners with the Leadership and Development team to provide solutions.
  • Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
  • Identify gaps in policies and/or processes and create/develop process or policy improvements as needed.
  • Monitors trending issues from business unit with the Head of Bayview Canada and identifies areas of need.
  • Acts as Key liaison in conjunction with Assistant Vice President and/or SVP of Human Resources to legal counsel in relation to employee matters of elevated risk.
  • Communicates with Assistant Vice President and/or SVP of Human Resources regularly regarding employee relations issues and investigations and propose solutions or identified outcomes.
  • Under the Assistant Vice President, leads global HR projects and assists with companywide implementations of new initiatives.
  • Recruit, interview and hire new employees (as needed).
  • Facilitates or provides training (including new-hire orientation) to the workforce.
  • Complete new-hire paperwork.
  • Serve as the liaison between the office and Bayview Corporate IT and Property Operations Departments.
  • Manages employee related events and programs within the site’s budget.
  • Serves as the Project Manager for a variety of short- and long-term projects and initaitives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience managing others required.
  • Limited travel will be required to other regional offices.


Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration

  • SHRM Certified preferred
  • SPHR/PHR Certified preferred
