ABOUT THE ROLE
As an HR Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of human resources, including strategic workforce planning, labor relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and align HR initiatives with business objectives.
POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Manager will manage HR operations and strategy, ensuring compliance, fostering employee engagement, and supporting leadership development while maintaining strong labor relations in a unionized environment.
REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals.
Manage full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition.
Implement systems for performance reviews, employee training plans and career pathing.
Interpret and apply collective agreements; assist with grievance handling and labor relations.
Oversee compensation plans and benefits administration.
Ensure compliance with BC Employment Standards, WorkSafeBC, and Human Rights Code.
Lead employee engagement, recognition, and wellness programs.
Support leadership development and succession planning.
Participate in Health & Safety Committee activities and promote best practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a unionized construction environment.
Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation and HR best practices.
Proven ability to influence and build relationships with leadership teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
CPHR designation is an asset.
This position is onsite, Monday-Friday.
