JOB SUMMARY:



Based out of the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel, the Human Resources Manager will be a role model for all company policies and values. The Human Resources Manager is a champion towards employee engagement and is active in ensuring that the hotels maintain themselves as a great place to work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

(including but not limited to):

Handles all general inquiries of team members and the day-to-day administrative functions of the department as required Corresponds with payroll and finance regarding team member inquiries and/or payroll related updates or changes Assists with updating policies and handbooks and prepares orientation and training materials Administers all on-boarding activities for all new hires including sign-on paperwork, nametags, uniforms, locker assignment, system/computer logins, and other tools as required by position Ensures all team member communication is updated such as communication boards Plans and coordinates awards and recognition programs Supports Hiring Managers with hands-on involvement in hiring team members as required Attends Job fairs and other recruitment assignments when required Works with the HR Team and General Managers to establish an effective communication channel between the company and all team members Actively listens to team members to effectively exchange information as required Chairs Hotel Employee Representative Meetings to discuss any concerns or ideas relative to guest service, Team Member services or Team Member social events Co-chairs the Joint health and Safety Committee Tracks and maintains accident reports and prepares all health and safety reports as needed Follows Company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment Collaborate and provide support on social media initiatives Assists and facilitates with associate training programs including health & safety and new hire orientations as well as brand standards as required Protect the privacy and security of team members Maintains confidentiality of proprietary materials and information Follows Company and department policies and procedures Actively listens to and considers the concerns of team members, responding appropriately and effectively Supports all team members and treat them with dignity and respect Develops and maintains a positive and productive working relationship with all team members and all departments Handles sensitive issues with team members and/or guests with tact, respect, diplomacy, and confidentiality All other duties assigned by the General Manager and or Corporate Director of Human Resources/Assistant Regional Director of Human Resources

QUALIFICATIONS:



Previous Human Resources experience is preferred Working towards a Degree/diploma in Human Resources or Hospitality Management would be considered an asset Previous experience in Hospitality would be considered an asset Computer literate with knowledge of Windows, including Word and Excel Must possess excellent coaching, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills Ability to take initiative and to be a self-starter Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail is essential Must openly embrace change and have the ability to stimulate and support creativity and innovation in others Ability to multitask, with strong administrative & organizational skills essential Desire to work in a team-based environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
