Vitasoy International is a leading manufacturer and distributor of plant-based beverages and food listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HK0345). Established in 1940 by Dr Kwee-seong Lo, we promote sustainable nutrition through our high-quality product portfolio, integrating social responsibility into our business and contributing to the communities that we serve via nutrition-based education programs. Vitasoy USA was founded in 1978 and is accredited as one of the first companies to introduce soymilk to North America. Our two major brands are VITASOY, nutritious soy, and other plant-based beverages, and VITA, tea, and other ready-to-drink beverages.

Who you are



As the HR Manager, you will be the heartbeat of the organization, and your primary objective will be to create a work environment that people will want to join and stay with as the company grows. You will be responsible for managing all HR related matters with the support of multiple external 3rd Party HR Service Providers and working directly with our Group HR Team located in Hong Kong. We are looking for a self-starter who proactively takes the initiative to solve problems. We are prepared to invest in external training as needed but the expectation is that the position will be responsible for finding the necessary resources or classes to provide the training and making recommendations and proposals to the CEO for approval. We are a lean organization of driven individuals, and every member is expected to contribute to our overall success. Exceptional time management, organizational skills and ability to multi-task are essential to becoming a productive team member.

The position will report directly to the CEO of Vitasoy North America. You will be required to be in-office Monday - Friday for the initial 2-3 weeks of the 3-month probationary period to accelerate the orientation and training of the current processes and payroll system.

What You Will Do (more concise)



Manage day-to-day HR administration on company intranet (SharePoint): personnel records, file uploads, notes, requests, attendance, policy acknowledgements, announcements, and job postings. Oversee full-cycle recruitment: draft job descriptions/postings, liaise with agencies, screen applicants, schedule interviews, coordinate/assess tests, prepare offers, and conduct references/background checks, ensuring compliance with hiring policies. Manage onboarding and offboarding: orientations, online training, exit interviews, communication with departments, analysis, and recommendations. Administer benefits: process enrollments/changes, respond to inquiries, liaise with provider, and educate employees on program. Provide coaching/support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and escalate issues as needed. Oversee Performance Planning and Review process, ensuring timely execution and support. Maintain electronic filing, reports, HR metrics, and tracking spreadsheets. Actively lead Health & Safety Committee: meetings, inspections, safety board updates, accident investigations, and issue resolution. Manage years-of-service awards program and lead company social activities through the Social Committee. Ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws while fostering positive relationships with employees, vendors, and stakeholders. Perform other duties as required, demonstrating flexibility to meet business needs beyond standard work hours when necessary.

What we are looking for



University degree, and Certificate/Diploma in HR Management, with 5+ years' experience

CHRP/CHRL designation is preferred

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. University level proficiency in spoken and written English and fluency in spoken Cantonese and/or Mandarin

Strong research skills, ability to read, interpret and apply employment legislation.

Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, efficient and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

Ability to establish effective working relationships across all sites and at all levels within the organization

Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and maintain high trust levels

Knowledge of provincial labor employment law regulations and applicable requirements for multiple provinces across Canada

Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems software such as ADP, Payworks, Concur.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Capable of working independently and taking ownership of tasks

A willingness to learn and contribute to the team dynamic (all hands-on deck mentality)

Advanced skills with MS Office and Adobe products. (In particular, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Acrobat)

Proficiency to quickly learn proprietary software

Minimal travel may be required
