Fort Edmonton Management Company (FEMCo), the organization that operates Fort Edmonton Park, is looking for an energetic, passionate, well organized individual to join the team as a Human Resources Manager. It\xe2\x80\x99s an exciting time at Fort Edmonton Park as work on the strategy to become the premier cultural tourism attraction in Western Canada continues, while we move into our next open summer season in 2023!

Reporting to the VP, Finance and Administration, the Manager of Human Resources provides assistance and leadership aimed at helping Fort Edmonton Management Company achieve its organizational objectives. The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for managing FEMCo\xe2\x80\x99s human resources department and aligning practices with FEMCo\xe2\x80\x99s strategic plan; also responsible for supporting recruitment, onboarding new employees, training and development, employee relations, performance management, and total rewards and wellness.

HR Responsibilities

  • Managing the activities of the Human Resources department

  • Leading all managers in staff recruiting, interviewing, orientation, performance management, transfer, promotion or termination of employees

  • Provide advice on job design, organization design, change management and employee resource utilization

  • Support senior leadership in overall talent attraction, engagement, retention and succession

  • Administering FEMCo\xe2\x80\x99s overall salary compensation and benefit programs

  • Managing performance management as well as learning and development

  • Oversee payroll administration and provide support to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including supervision of the HR & Payroll Administrator

  • Advising FEMCo leadership on Human Resource priorities and related policies in the context of FEMCo\xe2\x80\x99s priorities, strategic direction and emerging industry standards

  • Support diversity initiatives

  • Other Human Resources projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field

  • Minimum 6 years human resources experience in progressively higher roles with demonstrated skills in Human Resources strategies

  • Innovative and creative solutions provider

  • Business partner and customer service mindset

  • Strong understanding of common HR competencies including performance management, learning and development, disability management, compensation and benefits, workforce restructuring, and organizational effectiveness

  • Well-developed organization and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and effectively managing competing priorities

  • Experience working in both union and non-union environment an asset

  • Proficiency with Google suite an asset
  • Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation preferred
Other Details

  • Permanent full time role

  • Primarily an office position, typically shifts are weekdays and between the hours of 8AM to 4:30PM; may require occasional weekend, stat and/or evening work to support business needs

  • Moderately to frequent work onsite and outdoors to provide services to our staff who work throughout the Park

  • Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions

  • Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation as the site often operates outside of standard public transportation hours
