We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Human Resources Manager to join our team on a full-time, fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave. This hybrid role begins with remote work from December through May, transitioning to fully in-person from June through August at our Toronto locations.

, you'll lead the
full-cycle recruitment and onboarding
of our seasonal summer camp staff across 11 camp locations. This includes developing and executing recruitment strategies targeting university and college students for camp counsellor roles and attending campus events. This high-volume, fast-paced phase will connect enthusiastic university and college students with meaningful summer employment opportunities.
From
June to August
, you'll shift focus to
staff training, resource coordination, and operational readiness
for camp launch. During the camp weeks (July and August), the role expands to include
Area Manager responsibilities
. You will oversee 2-3 camp locations by maintaining programming quality control, providing on-site leadership, supporting staff, and ensuring a successful camp experience for all.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES):
December - June
Update job descriptions and post roles on Indeed and university/college job sites; coordinating with university/college co-op offices where necessary.
Screen candidates and monitor applications daily.
Develop and implement a structured recruitment timeline and strategy to ensure the timely hiring of all required seasonal staff prior to the launch of summer operations.
Plan and lead group and individual interviews.
Assist in staff budget planning by allocating staff to funding programs and facilitating paperwork completion, where applicable.
Generate standardized offer letters, track their completion and save the documents appropriately.
Ensure the timely collection and confidential storage of all employee onboarding related documentation; including but not limited to Standard First Aid and CPRC certificates, Vulnerable Sector Police checks, resumes, payroll information etc.
Create and manage staff profiles and documentation on the BrightHR HRIS system.
Update the website to reflect 2026 job opportunities and staff profiles.
Attend recruitment volunteer/job fairs and university conferences, as required.
Hire and staff all spring 2026 PA Day camps and March Break Camp staff based on previously identified return staff availability.
Facilitate staff engagement prior to the start of summer through various forms of communication. I.e. staff newsletters, email blasts, social media posts etc.
Develop and update staff training information and materials.
Plan and coordinate several in-person and virtual staff training sessions in June.
Update and print all training-related materials; including but not limited to staff/location manager manuals, counsellor/location manager folders, procedure checklists etc.
Coordinate staff incentives and welcome packages ahead of the summer based on previous budgets.
Plan and lead craft preparation workshops to create camper craft packages for summer 2026.
Track camp materials and supplies inventory for craft sessions and summer camp preparation, as needed.
Assist where needed during spring 2026 PA Day camps; including but not limited to in-person management of camp locations, supplies/materials preparation etc.
Assist in in-person camp preparation and location "load-ins" during the last two weeks of June (June 15-26) before camp starts.
July - August
Oversee the smooth operations of 2-3 camp locations.
Conduct quality control assessments to ensure programming and camper care are meeting camp standards.
Check-in daily with Location Managers and attend to issues/escalations.
Problem-solve with Camp Directors and Location Managers for any camper or staff related issues.
Communicate with parents in-person to uphold our camp values and maintain good client-relationships.
Build upon existing relationships with each location's facility staff, admin, custodians etc.
Maintain facility organization and cleanliness in accordance with camp and landlord standards.
Manage supplies and activity equipment for camp locations.
Complete funding program paperwork, where applicable.
Maintain an accurate record of staff absences and working hours, using the BrightHR system and Whatsapp group chats.
Coordinate staff recognition incentives with Location Managers, where appropriate.
Support with payroll management by answering staff questions and directing staff to the correct resources.
September - December
Analyze key staff metrics (i.e. absences, surveys, evaluations, scorecards) to review and evaluate summer staff performance. Identify strategic action items to improve future staffing and operational procedures.
Research potential new camp locations for continuous business growth.
Update HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), if applicable.
Connect with subsidy organizations to research and plan for 2027 staff funding options.
Manage 2026 Fall PA Day Camps and Winter Camps.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING (REQUIREMENTS):
Available to work full-time from December 2025 - December 2026.
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
CHRP License preferred.
Proven work experience with full-cycle recruitment, staff onboarding and training.
Must have access to a car and a valid driver's license.
Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
A valid and current Standard First Aid & CPR, level C is an asset.
Previous work experience at a camp, child care program, or education-related organization is an asset.
Previous experience working in a team environment is mandatory.
Previous experience managing or leading a team/staff is preferred.
