FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Reporting to Under the supervision of the assistant director of Human Resources, the human resources coordinator is responsible for the following duties and tasks:
Create and implement an OHS program.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Actively participate in risk analysis, workplace inspections, committees and work accident investigations.
Periodically review the effectiveness of the prevention program and adjust it to achieve targets.
Act as the main OHS resource person and provide guidance and support.
Apply and interpret the collective agreements of the three categories of personnel in the regular sector (support staff, professionals and teachers).
Ensure compliance with OHS laws and regulations.
Document grievance and arbitration files;
Analyze salary insurance claims, prepare requests for medical expertise and manage CNESST claims.
Any other related tasks assigned by the Assistant Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold an executive or managerial position.
Five (5) years of relevant experience.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent in two of the three official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French)
Experience the creation, implementation, and review of the effectiveness of OHS programs
Experience in the interpretation and application of collective agreement and OHS laws and regulations
Experience managing disability and CNESST files
Experience in a unionized environment
Experience working for a school board
Knowledge of Inuit culture
Willingness to travel to Nunavik
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 6as per the working conditions of KI's managers: from $88,755 a $118,336 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the duration and the percentage of the assignment.
