Human Resources Generalist - Fulltime/Permanent
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Generalist is responsible for the effective administration of all HR tasks for the Hanover Operations Centre. The HR Generalist is a subject matter expert in providing front-line HR customer services to employees and management in matters relating to time & attendance, recruitment, onboarding, absence management, benefits, health and safety, incentives, and rewards. They will work as part of a collaborative HR Team.
Responsibilities
Lead the full cycle recruitment for both union and non-union positions
Coordinate the employee onboarding, orientation, and safety training
Maintain accurate employee records
Support employee relations and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management
1 - 3 years HR experience preferred; however, recent graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply
Detail oriented and resourceful self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong interpersonal skills with sound written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to handle sensitive issues in a professional manner
Experience in dealing with the public, handling inquiries, and working in a deadline-oriented environment
Attention to detail and accuracy is essential along with well-established organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities while recognizing priorities
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and database applications
Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
Dayforce HRIS/payroll system (Ceridian) experience is an asset
