Together, we are seeking their next key hire: HR Generalist.Job ID: 42769Job Type: Direct HireCategory: Human ResourcesLocation: Calgary, AlbertaOur client is seeking an Human Resources (HR) Generalist to support their SW Calgary care centre.The HR Generalist will provide HR support in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations, contributing to the organizationxe2x80x99s culture of excellence, dignity, and growth.The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director and Site Administrator, offering collaborative, tactful, and diplomatic support. They must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and maintain a positive, energetic attitude.The candidate should be calm under pressure, able to prioritize effectively, and remain approachable while guiding both front-line workers and management based on union and internal policies.Duties and Responsibilities:The key job functions are:

  • Recruitment: Oversee job descriptions, ads, interviews, reference checks, and HRIS data entry for new hires.
  • Onboarding & Exit: Manage onboarding and exit interviews for smooth employee transitions.
  • HR Advisory: Offer HR support to employees and managers, fostering open communication.
  • Employee Concerns: Address daily employee issues promptly as the main point of contact.
  • Employee Relations: Advise on attendance, disability, and performance management, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Positive Relationships: Promote a positive work environment through strong employee relationships.
  • Performance Management: Support managers in addressing performance issues and investigations.
  • Policy Oversight: Develop and enforce HR policies for consistency and compliance.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to employment laws and promote best HR practices.
  • Policy Interpretation: Advise on Collective Bargaining Agreements and relevant legislation.
  • Change Management: Guide staff and management through organizational change.
  • Implementation Support: Collaborate on change management to ensure effective execution.
  • Risk & Gap Analysis: Identify HR process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Track HR metrics for informed decision-making.
  • Position Management: Support position classifications and reclassification processes.
  • Strategic HR: Contribute to HR strategy and align it with business goals.
  • Flexible Support: Assist with additional tasks as needed.
Education:
  • A degree in Human Resources Management (or related field) is required.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation (or in the process of obtaining) is considered an asset.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of HR experience is required.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is required.
  • Experience in the healthcare field is considered an asset.
Qualifications:
  • Vulnerable Sector Check is required (if not already on file, candidate must be comfortable undergoing one).
  • Criminal Record Check is required (if not already on file, candidate must be comfortable undergoing one).
  • Vaccine-mandated environment (COVID, flu, etc.).
  • Pre-employment health and fitness screening is required.

  • Adaptability & Calm Under Pressure: Remains composed and flexible in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.
Base Salary: $65,000 xe2x80x93 $70,000
  • Salary based on experience.
  • Full benefits package included.
Work Hours:
  • Monday to Friday.
  • 40 hours per week.
Remote Work:
  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
