We are recruiting for an HR Generalist to join our Toronto Team



Who are we looking for?



The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering day-to-day HR services across the employee life cycle, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations and engagement, administration of benefits, HR policy implementation. The role reports to Chief People Officer and in partnership with other HR team members and CPAB employees will ensure consistent, compliant, and people-centred HR practices that contribute to a positive and engaged workplace culture, while supporting CPAB's and HR team's goals and objectives.



This is a role for someone who is organized and detail oriented, and able to work in the office four to five (4 - 5) times a week.



What will you be doing?



Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Own and handle all stages of recruitment, including job posting, sourcing and screening potential candidates, interviewing, reference checks and offer preparations. Coordinate assessments to evaluate technical skills, cultural fit and long-term potential. Partner with hiring managers to understand the role and the team's requirements and ensure timely hiring. Maintain a healthy pipeline of candidates by building and maintaining relationships with potential candidates for future hiring. Utilize various networks such as applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn, and other platforms to identify and engage passive and active candidates. Lead new employee onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive and compliant start. Ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience that reflects the organization's culture and mission. Track and analyze key recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, turnover trends, candidates experience) and prepare regular timely reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to CPO. Ensure recruitment process comply with employment laws and maintain accurate records of hiring activities.

Employee Relations & Engagement

Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, procedures, and workplace concerns. Support the resolution of employee relations issues, including performance management, attendance, and conflict resolution as needed. Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture. Assist with employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.

Performance Management

Support the administration of performance review processes, including goal setting and annual evaluations. Assist managers on performance management practices and documentation. Assist with performance improvement plans (PIPs) as needed.

Compensation & Benefits Administration

Support the administration of compensation programs, including salary changes, bonuses, and market benchmarking. Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.

Health, Safety & Wellness

Lead Joint Health and Safety committee. Support workplace health and safety programs, including incident reporting and compliance documentation. Assist with return-to-work and accommodation processes. Promote employee wellness initiatives and mental health awareness.

HR Reporting & Administration

Prepare HR reports and metrics related to headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment. Maintain HR files, documentation, and systems with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Support audits and internal reporting requirements.

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

Participate in HR projects such as policy updates, system implementations, or organizational initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience. Support change management initiatives as required.

What do you bring to the Role?

3-5 years of progressive human resources experience. Demonstrated experience across multiple HR practice areas, consistent with the Foundational and Enabling competencies of the CPHR framework. Prior experience in an HR Coordinator or Junior HR Generalist role is required. Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline. CPHR/CHRP designation completed or in progress (or eligibility to obtain). Commitment to ongoing professional development to meet CPHR continuing education requirements. Proven experience with Ceridian Dayforce Applicant Tracking System and LinkedIn Recruiter. Strong knowledge of data analytics tools for recruitment metrics. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Outstanding communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Excellent team player, with a professional and customer service mindset. Has an understanding and is comfortable with AI, specifically Microsoft CoPilot. Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices. Outstanding organization, time, and project management skills. Ability to handle multiple demands and effectively manage conflicting priorities and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously. Has a continuous improvement mindset and is able to make suggestions for improvements to internal processes and practices.
