Our manufacturing capabilities span open gearing, gearboxes, precision machining, and comprehensive service and repair offerings.

This role will support employees at our location in Surrey, BC, as well as our offices on Vancouver Island, in Ontario, and future expansion sites.

Position Overview:



The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting both the strategic and day-to-day operational HR needs of PREP and its related companies. This role supports an organization of approximately 65 employees and functions as the sole HR team member, providing full-spectrum HR support across recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, employee relations, performance management, HR programs, compliance, and general HR operations.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced HR professional who builds strong relationships, provides practical guidance to managers and employees, and takes ownership of improving HR processes and documentation. The HR Generalist helps maintain a positive and respectful workplace culture while ensuring practices align with employment legislation, internal policies, and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

:

Recruitment and Onboarding:



Lead full-cycle recruitment including postings, applicant screening, interviews, and candidate communication Coordinate preboarding and onboarding logistics, documentation, safety training, and orientation Ensure consistency and strong employee experience from recruitment through onboarding Support creation and updates of job descriptions

Training and Development:



Recommend, coordinate, and track training and development activities Maintain training logs and records in the Quality System Support managers with employee development plans and related documentation

Employee Relations and Performance Management:



Serve as a point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR inquiries Support managers with performance reviews and performance discussions Assist with employee development initiatives and career growth activities Conduct exit interviews and identify opportunities for improvement Contribute to wage reviews, market benchmarking, and recognition initiatives Support planning and coordination of employee events and culture-building activities

Policy and Compliance:



Implement, maintain, and communicate HR policies and procedures Maintain the Employee Handbook and ensure alignment with employment standards Ensure HR documentation (employment agreements, forms, records) is accurate and compliant Maintain organized, secure HR records and filing systems Prepare HR metrics and reports (turnover, attendance, training, etc.) Support legal and compliance matters, including documentation and coordination with external counsel when required

Administrative and System Support:



Provide HR administrative support to leadership and management teams Assist with documentation for employee travel, including visa requirements Maintain accurate employee information within the ERP system and HR tools Support benefits administration and coordinate with payroll as needed

Work Location and Work Arrangement



This is primarily an on-site role based at our Surrey, BC location, given the hands-on and employee-facing nature of HR work. Occasional flexibility may be available based on operational needs.

Travel Requirements



Occasional travel to related company locations in Ontario may be required

Qualifications and Experience



Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources role Post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Resources or related field Experience supporting both office and industrial/technical employee groups is an asset Strong working knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices Ability to work independently as the sole HR resource Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS or ERP systems is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
