Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will contribute to the company's yearly goal attainment through recommendations, development, implementation, coordination and administration of policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, benefits, compensation, training, health & safety, employee and labour regulations for both employees and owner operators.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Handle all HR related tasks for 2 terminals in London and in Windsor, ON. Help implement Human Resource strategy to support business strategy. Conduct HR processes based on best practices and determine necessary improvements to established processes in order to achieve goals. Communicate HR initiatives and directions to management and employees. Assist Senior Management in the formulation of staffing goals, turnover tracking, etc. Conduct full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, conducting initial interviews, preparing offer letters, completing onboarding paperwork. Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee(s) to proactively identify workplace hazards and collaboratively develop strategies for risk mitigation, prevention, and elimination. Work closely with the VP of Human Resources to proactively identify and address HR-related risk areas, including workplace safety, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws. Maintain personnel records related to onboarding, training, etc., by ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure compliance is upheld with relation to the Canada Labour Code. Administer workplace injury claims in coordination with WSIB to facilitate early and safe return-to-work processes that support employee recovery.

Qualifications:



CHRP Designation preferred or working towards. University or College degree in business or a related field a strong asset. Previous experience in a similar Human Resources role a strong asset. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to work in a high volume environment and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
