Reporting to the HR Director, the

HR Generalist

will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day HR operations, focusing on recruitment and onboarding, providing guidance to staff and managers, training and investigations, while ensuring compliance with both internal policies and legislative requirements.

This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a balance of strong organization and administrative skills, knowledge of Ontario employment law, with exceptional communication abilities.

Summary of Responsibilities

Provide direction to Program management to ensure a safe and positive working environment that drives engagement and that promotes a culture of inclusion, respect and apprenticeship for all employees Provide support to Program management and Onboarding Coordinator to ensure all recruiting needs are met which includes pre-screening, preparation of offer letters, document collection, reference checks and onboarding is scheduling accordingly Mentor, coach, and provide support to Program management on an ongoing basis that promotes employee engagement and to ensure they continuously enhance their ability to recruit, onboard, retain, develop, and manage performance (including discipline) across their teams using leading practices Point of contact (after Program management) for staff queries of a general nature; escalate to Director HR for more serious incidents or circumstances Ensure that workplace investigations are conducted professionally, objectively, and thorough, lead investigations where appropriate in accordance with policy Provide feedback and documentation related to progressive discipline for Program management as required; review performance files and bring forward any concerns or issues to Director HR prior to issuance of documentation Responsible for regular audits of employee files on ADP WFN to ensure all documentation is current, work with Program management on outstanding or expiring information; provide reporting as required to facilitate Conduct training, as required, for onboarding, group health benefits, internal systems and policies and procedures Manage LOAs, act as point of contact to employees, follow-up on documentation required for return to work Responsible for ensuring HR and payroll related information is communicated across the teams, as required

Qualifications

Human Resources education or equivalent CHRP designation or working towards certification 3-5+ years of related experience, with specific experience in conducting full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and investigations Solid knowledge of Human Resources best practices, policies, procedures and employment-related Legislation such as the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (e.g. ADP WorkForce Now, Makeshift, Talent LMS), as well as strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and use discretion with highly confidential material Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Team player with excellent interpersonal Ability to work independently and collaboratively Preference given to professionals with health services industry experience

Pay: $52,500.00-$64,000.00 per year
