Summary


We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic, Human Resource Generalist to join our team!

Based in Edmonton and reporting to the HRBP, the HR Generalist is instrumental in fostering a work environment that upholds the company's values and promotes employee engagement. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in upholding a HR presence in strategic planning and day-to-day operations. This position will support various business leaders and employees, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of support.

Responsibilities



Serve as a mediator in resolving workplace conflicts and promote a positive work environment. Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR policies and procedures. Conduct regular site visits, ensuring adequate HR presence in the field, assessing employee engagement, addressing employee concerns, and delivering company communications. Assist and conduct thorough workplace investigations on matters such as, but not limited to misconduct, harassment, or other workplace issues. Maintain the operation and maintenance of the HRIS to ensure data accuracy and functionality. Keep employee records up to date with current information regarding job titles, salaries, benefits, and contact details. Independently or with support of other HR team members, deploy appropriate recruitment tactics aimed to fill job vacancies in a timely manner. Communicate with Hiring Managers to determine job vacancies on an ongoing basis. Work with management to facilitate employee appraisals and development plans. Implement training programs that align with company goals and employee career paths. Working with the HR team, critically review, identify and recommend internal employees for training and development opportunities. Contribute to the development of HR strategies that support the company's goals. Assist in managing organizational change to ensure a smooth transition for employees. Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others. Collaborate with project teams on other special initiatives, as required.

Qualifications



Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a HR role, with preference for experience in the construction industry or related field. Comprehensive understanding of HR practices, employment legislation, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in JDE or similar software and/or SuccessFactors with a strong aptitude for learning new systems considered a strong asset. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
