What You Will Do
Det'on Cho Management LP is seeking to hire a Human Resources Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR function, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services throughout the organization.
Reporting to the V.P. of People, the HR Director provides operational leadership in recruitment, employee relations, HRIS/payroll administration, performance management, and compliance. This role ensures that HR practices are consistent, legally compliant, and aligned with organizational values while supporting employee engagement and workforce development.
A Day In The Life
  • Oversee daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Supervise the HR team to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex employee relations issues and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and territorial employment legislation.
  • Manage HR policies, procedures, and audits.
  • Partner with managers and staff to address workforce needs in real time.
  • Monitor key HR metrics, including turnover, time-to-hire, and compliance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the team on workforce reporting and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement HR strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Implementing the organization-wide performance management framework.
  • Manage employee and relations strategies to ensure issues are resolved proactively and fairly.
  • Participate in and contribute to meetings, workshops, and staff training.
  • Familiarity with the Yellowknives Dene's language, culture and way of life is an asset.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CPHR/CHRP designation preferred.
  • 8+ years of HR experience, including 3-5 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead day-to-day HR operations in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Payroll and HR data accuracy
  • Compliance with legislation and HR policy
  • Employee relations case resolution time.
  • Recruitment cycle time and onboarding completion rate.
  • Performance review completion rates.
  • HR service satisfaction scores from employees and managers.
