NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components for the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. Operating from a 120,000 sq. ft. facility at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto, our dedicated team is committed to delivering the highest quality products to specifications and on time.

We are seeking an

experienced Human Resources Director

to join our team. The Human Resources Director reports directly to the President & CEO of NWI Precision Tube ULC, providing HR leadership to senior management, managers, supervisors and employees. The position will identify and implement HR best practices for NWI Precision including HR initiatives that support business and HR strategic planning objectives. The Human Resources Director manages the HR department which provides all human resources functions for the business unit. The Human Resources Director will maintain a dotted line reporting relationship to the Vice President Human Resources for NWI Aerostructures/OSS Operations to align corporate practices within the Canadian work environment.

Overview:



This position provides HR tactical and strategic leadership for NWI Precision the functional areas of employee relations, compensation, recruitment and selection, legal compliance employee communications, training, organizational development, payroll and other people-related programs. Additionally, the position is a member of the NWI Precision senior leadership team.

Human Resources Responsibilities:



Lead the Human Resources department in the development, implementation and maintenance of all Human Resources policies for the business unit. Serve as a focal within the senior leadership team to provide recommendations on the human factors supporting change, growth and the attainment of business objectives. Assure HR practices are compliant with all provincial and federal employment laws as well as export control and industry specific regulatory requirements (CGP, ITAR). Administer compensation and payroll processes, including bonus and reward strategies. Lead full cycle employee recruitment/selection and termination of employment processes. Administer employee performance appraisal process. Develop and maintain position descriptions for all occupations. Investigate and suggest resolution for employee relations matters. Support corporate and site HR strategic planning processes to include compensation planning, succession planning and high potential identification Serve as site focal for the administration, evaluation and modification of employee benefits. Provide coaching and counsel to all employees on HR policy and procedures and compliance with provincial and federal employment law. Support and implement employee communication programs. Develop, prepare and analyze HR metrics including headcount, turnover, compensation, labor market, and benefit cost. Oversee the development, delivery and effectiveness of training and development programs. Develop partnerships with colleges, universities, and training centers to establish apprenticeship programs and secure a skilled workforce pipeline in STEM and aerospace/nuclear trades. Develop and measure metrics of performances of the HR department Complete additional projects as required

Health and Safety Responsibilities:



Support operational managers in maintaining compliance with the provisions of the

Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)*, regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures
Help create a healthy work environment by bringing the parties together and facilitating meaningful dialogue, acting as a mediator between management and workers where necessary, communicating to employees the organization's commitment to occupational health and safety, and training managers and employees on safe work practices.

Ensure efficient HR fundamentals and process (cost, quality, speed, customer satisfaction) and work in partnership with the business to support the implementation of performance improvement through increased employee productivity and engagement, specifically, Communicate business and organizational issues within the business Link business strategy to people implications and to HR deliverables Inform and educate stakeholders On Time Recruiting Training as per compliance department Succession plan and talent development continuous update and development Grow internal skillset of the organization Reduce turnover Align compensation to expectations Ensure compliance with Controlled Goods/ITAR employee requirements Measure employee engagement and implement retention strategies for critical roles

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education:



Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent degree program. CHRP certification preferred

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:



Minimum of 10 years progressive Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment. of which at least 5 years as HR Generalist. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably mechanical or machine shop industry. Knowledge of best practices in human resource management. Knowledge of Canadian legal practices, employment and labor legislation and regulations.

Strong PC skills; proficiency with various word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
