Human Resources Director



Reporting directly to the President and positioned at the heart of the company's growth ambitions, the Human Resources and International Recruitment Director will play a key role in transforming and evolving HR practices. Visionary, detail-oriented, and results-driven, you will be responsible for optimizing the overall HR strategy by developing and implementing effective programs in talent attraction, retention, development, performance management, health and safety, and labor relations.

In a context of sustained growth and multi-site operations, you will ensure smooth internal communication, a climate of trust, and a strong organizational culture.

Main responsibilities



Strategic HR Partner



Act as a strategic business partner to management and leaders on human, organizational, and cultural issues. Support leaders in their day-to-day management practices and contribute to the continuous evolution of company culture.

Labor relations



Advise and support managers and employees regarding HR policies, compensation and benefits, and applicable labor standards. Draft and distribute official employee communications. Coordinate disciplinary matters while ensuring fairness and proper documentation.

Health and safety



Actively participate in the Health and Safety Committee and support managers in applying relevant laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with the prevention program and oversee incident investigations in collaboration with the prevention mutual. Maintain the compliance of facilities and first-aid kits.

Recruitment and onboarding



Lead the complete recruitment process for both administrative and production positions. Manage international recruitment (LMIA, CAQ, work permits) and ensure successful operational execution. Prepare employment contracts, handle administrative documentation, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.

Training and development



Identify professional development needs and lead the implementation of training programs. Monitor training activities eligible under the Skills Development Act and maximize available grants. Keep training records up to date and compliant.

Performance and compensation management



Support managers throughout the annual evaluation and continuous improvement process. Review and adjust performance management tools to align with organizational needs. Conduct internal and external compensation analyses and recommend equitable and competitive compensation strategies.

Administration and special projects



Update job descriptions and organizational structures. Develop and implement innovative HR policies, tools, and programs. Participate in organizing corporate and social events and promote company culture.

Profile sought



Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. Member in good standing of the CRHA or CRIA Order. Minimum of 10 years of experience as an HR Director in a manufacturing environment. At least 5 years of experience managing the full international recruitment process (LMIA, CAQ, work permits). Proven experience providing strategic HR support to managers and strong expertise in Health and Safety. Experience in multi-site environments. Excellent communication skills (French and English), political acumen, influential leadership, and strong listening skills. Initiative, autonomy, creativity, and the ability to balance strategy with execution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingualism (French/English) required.
