Human Resources Coordinator



7 hours per day



18 Month Term



Effective December 8/25 to June 25/27



Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the HR Coordinator is responsible to provide support to the Manager and the Human Resource Advisors in human resource activities including recruitment and selection; employee and labour relations; and classifications. The HR Coordinator will also do general administration and work on special projects, conduct research, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Perform full cycle recruitment activities for substitutes and casuals. Ensure Collective Agreements, HR policies and Administrative Standards are met through recruitment activities. Lead the development of advertising material, qualifications, screening of candidates approve selection of candidates, reference checks, conduct offers of employment and ensure conditions of employment have been met. Advise management on matters involving employment practices such as recruitment and selection of staff, high turnover job categories; difficult-to-recruit to positions; and outreach recruitment activities related to Employment Equity and Diversity. Participate in ongoing coaching of recruitment and selection practices and procedures. Responsible for competitive process file management. Update HRIS with new or changing employee data; connect payroll, finance and IT departments to employee assignments and information Advise employees on HR process for leave requests As an alternate to the Human Resources Manager - Non-Teaching, may review and approve leave requests (2nd level from Administrators) Process job bulletin requests for posting on divisional website Close job bulletins and process applicants for viewing

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:



Qualifications

Education/Certification/Training

Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a similar position.
Experience

Minimum two (2) years' experience in a directly related position. Extensive experience conducting full cycle recruitment and selection activities Experience providing advice and guidance in the areas of employee and labour relations and classifications is preferred. Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset. Experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Skills and abilities

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships in a collaborative team environment with internal and external stakeholders. Strong customer service skills. Strong verbal communication skills conveying information in a clear and concise manner to others. Strong written communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgement to solve problems and make decisions quickly and effectively under limited supervision. Ability to maintain composure and work in an efficient and professional manner while dealing tactfully with the public, clients and employees. Ability to interpret legislation, collective agreements and policies/administrative standards. Sound knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems

Pay: $61,267.00-$66,236.00 per year
