Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator provides tier two support in responding to more complex employee related inquiries while delivering client focused and timely responses and service.



The Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in fostering strong communication, building relationships, and contributing to efficient service delivery. This role will support initiatives aimed at increasing departmental efficiency and adopting a more strategic approach to operations. In addition, this role support key functions within the team including recruitment, payroll, benefits administration and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Represent Human Resources on more complex employee, candidate and public inquiries either in person, over the phone, or through email. Supports the onboarding and offboarding process. Ensure timely maintenance of the Student Information System (SIS) database for all active employees. Support the maintenance of general documents including employee files. Support the administering of the various Human Resources programs and initiatives. Maintain the HRIS including entering new employees, updating contract details, updating personal information as requested, verifying and confirming expired personnel information. Complete contract requests for a variety of positions using systems or templates. Support the revision of policies and procedure as needed. Assist with the recruitment process as needed. Aid in the efficient processing of payroll as needed. Prepare letters for employees as requested. Champion continuous improvement of Human Resources processes, and client service by seeking efficiencies and presenting them to the team for consideration and implement as needed. Assist the organizing, planning and delivering of employee events as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment. An undergraduate degree is considered an asset. Experience in post-secondary sector and/or Human Resources is considered an asset. Experience with Human Resources Information Management Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems is considered an asset. Two or more years of progressive human resources experience considered an asset. Experience in a human resources role in unionized environment an asset. Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results.
