Overview / Responsibilities: Wood has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner (6 \xe2\x80\x93 8 month Maternity Leave Coverage) to support our Mining & Minerals team. Reporting to the Operations Director and the Senior Manager, People & Organization, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office and will be a short term position (6 \xe2\x80\x93 8 months) to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will partner with Managers by understanding their people and business needs as well as the company values, culture, challenges and key indicators. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct human resources support to Managers as a trusted partner \xe2\x80\x93 serving as a member of their team
  • Oversee all aspects of the employment life cycle and facilitate employment changes from onboarding to offboarding
  • Champion company processes by advising on company policies, procedures and programs
  • Coach and support all aspects of talent management and development by identifying and addressing training and performance management issues
  • Lead processes for performance reviews, development planning, identifying high potential talent, and succession planning
  • Advise leaders on employment legislation, government regulations, retention, engagement and employee relation concerns
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with managers and staff at all levels of the organization
  • Create and analyze reports and metrics to identify trends prior to developing and recommending solutions to support the business
  • Advise on compensation and incentive decisions by analyzing role, performance, market, and internal structure. Support the compensation review process
  • Initiate and facilitate domestic and international assignments for employees
  • Support strategic human resources initiatives which requires collaboration, development, implementation and maintenance of these initiatives
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Human Resources Diploma or Degree combined with 7-10 years experience in a senior role
  • Experience working with an international workforce and project-based workforce of a global professional services company
  • Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills along with an analytical approach
  • Organized and detail oriented; ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as relationship building and influencing skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel proficiency \xe2\x80\x93 i.e. formatting spreadsheets, working with formulas, intermediate functions, etc
  • Experience with using Oracle People will be considered an asset
  • Ability to handle confidential information with maximum discretion
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a close team environment with overlapping/shared responsibilities and maintain positive working relationships
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
