Meridia has partnered with Medavie Health Services New Brunswick to recruit a self-motivated and Bilingual (EN/FR) Human Resources Business Partner to join their team based in New Brunswick.

Under the Medavie Inc. umbrella, Medavie Health Services is a health care delivery company that provides ground and air ambulance services, medical communications, clinical training, and community health solutions. Our client is responsible for the successful operation of some of New Brunswick\'s most critical health services, including Ambulance New Brunswick (ANB), as well as the Extra Mural Program (EMP) and NB Health Link.

Role Description:
Reporting to the Team Lead, the Human Resources Business Partner position is a strategic and hands-on role that will provide full cycle Human Resources leadership on organizational initiatives. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all employee relations and labour relations concerns and queries related to their assigned client group.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provides proactive, effective labour relations services and support, including grievance handling, collective agreement interpretation and negotiations;
  • Assess and anticipate business needs and analyze HR trends and metrics to develop appropriate HR strategies;
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and processes;
  • Consult with regional leaders to provide coaching and day-to-day support on navigating employee issues (i.e., absenteeism);
  • Support the recruitment function as needed, and build/improve on the existing onboarding process;
  • Work proactively with employees and management to create and maintain initiatives to reach their professional goals;
  • Establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with internal clients, stakeholders, and bargaining units;
  • Lead and enhance the organization\'s human resources function by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced Human Resources professional with exposure to working in a unionized environment. You thrive on building strong relationships, and have a natural ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple activities within a dynamic, fast-paced, organization while
remaining positive and focused.

Your qualifications include:
  • Bilingualism is required for this position. Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal, is a mandatory qualification;
  • Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or relevant discipline;
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources roles, ideally within a dynamic, multi-union environment;
  • CPHR designation is an asset;
  • Experience working for a health authority or health services organization would be considered an asset;
  • Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment, managing a high-volume workload with competing priorities;
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills;
  • Demonstrated integrity and high ethical standards, with a consistent ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality.
