Reporting to the Corporate Services HR leader this position is responsible for supporting the effective delivery and quality support of Human Resources services for the Company\'s Corporate Services team members in Ontario and British Columbia. In this role you are a strategic partner to the business and team members providing support for all touch points in the team member lifecycle, such as talent onboarding and training, absence management, employee relations, and performance achievement management. The Human Resources Business Partner will coordinate team member requests and changes, process documentation and systems updates, as needed, as well as provide guidance and generally supporting the team member\'s experience at Great Canadian.

Key Accountabilities:

  • A trusted advisor and partner to the business providing sound advice and counsel.
  • Provides consultation on the interpretation and application of Human Resources policies and procedures to all levels of management and team members for the Company\'s Corporate Services function
  • Coordinates and prepares Leave of Absence documentation for team members; maintains Leave of Absence files (such as; medical leave, long term disability, Worker\'s Compensation, bereavement, maternity, etc.), including the return to work program and processes
  • Coach leaders through separation processes, including preparing termination paperwork in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation.
  • Including preparing paperwork and participating in exit meetings; conducts exit interviews as required
  • Partner with the HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Labour Relations, Total Rewards, Leadership and Learning, HR Shared Services) to deliver high impact talent acquisition strategies, effective learning and development programs, and effective total rewards plans in order to drive business results and talent development, retention and attraction.
  • Supports immigration and relocation activities, as required (LMIA, BCPNP, PR, etc.)
  • Launches, coordinates and facilitates Leadership Development Program (LDP) training for assigned client group
  • Prepares internal communications as applicable to business groups
  • Responsible for onboarding and facilitates various training sessions
  • Participates as a member of the Corporate Services GEM Selection committee
  • Responds to requests for information regarding internal and external Human Resources inquires, including preparing HR data reports required
  • Coordinates and distributes Service Anniversary packages to managers, as applicable
  • Builds and develops strong working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Education and Qualifications:
  • University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources generalist roles
  • CHRP designation is preferred
  • Goal oriented with strong business acumen, service mindset, responsive and able to react quickly and thoughtfully using good judgment.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills, able to multitask and thrive in a fact paced environment.

  • Solid MS Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Experience with Human Resources Information systems; Oracle HCM Cloud preferred
