The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) is one of 27 regional districts in BC. We are a local government that provides governance and delivers a wide range of services to people living in seven electoral areas and four member municipalities that include, the City of Prince George, the District of Mackenzie, and the Villages of McBride and Valemount. Our administrative office is in Prince George, in North Central, BC on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation.

Human Resources Assistant





The Human Resources Assistant is an exempt position that reports to the Manager of Human Resources and provides essential administrative support across a wide variety of human resources functions in a unionized environment. This role involves working closely with the management team, employees, volunteer fire departments, internal committees, and the public.


Key responsibilities include supporting full-cycle recruitment activities such as preparing job postings, tracking applicants, arranging interviews, and conducting reference checks, as well as assisting with onboarding, offboarding, and preparing HR-related correspondence. The Assistant also manages personnel files, criminal record check documentation, and HR databases, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality at all times.


Additional responsibilities include supporting occupational health and safety initiatives, coordinating training sessions and employee wellness activities, maintaining HR materials on the intranet, and providing administrative support to committees through agenda preparation, meeting coordination, and minute-taking. The role also assists with the development of policies and procedures, responds to HR inquiries, and contributes to employee engagement initiatives.


This position requires careful handling of sensitive and confidential records, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications




Post-secondary education in human resources or administration, with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a human resources environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in a unionized environment. Experience and working knowledge of all legislation and regulatory frameworks applicable to this position. Valid BC driver's license.

Position Compensation




The salary range for this position is $67,165 to $74,630 and will be commensurate with education and years of experience.
