Job Description

Atlohsa Family Healing Services is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the role of Human Resources Assistant. The primary role of the Human Resources Assistant is to support the organization's Human Resources department by carrying out administrative tasks to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of HR programs and functions.






Role and Responsibility



Reporting to the Human Resources (HR) Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for diversified clerical and administrative activities to support the organization's Human Resources Department. The HR Assistant will post open job positions within the agency on relevant job boards and maintain the organization's applicant tracking system. They will support the onboarding program for the organization by drafting employment agreements; sending onboarding packages to new hires and submitting tickets for technology, equipment, and access set up; and track and collect paperwork to setup new employee profiles in payroll and HRIS.





The HR Assistant will be responsible for enrolling all new employees in the organization's benefit and pension plans. Ensuring all employees are enrolled by the conclusion of a probationary period and following up with any outstanding employees to have enrollment completed.





The above notwithstanding, the main priority and focus of the HR Assistant will be the organization's payroll. The HR Assistant is responsible to ensure all employees are set up in the payroll system and details of their employment are kept up to date as time goes on; all time off policies are assigned correctly and maintained adequately; timecards are completed and approved by department managers and directors on time for each pay period; and the timely and accurate processing of payroll each pay period.




Suitability




• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of recruitment, hiring, and onboarding practices.
• Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems. Experience with ADP is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to familiarize and understand complex or detailed processes.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills and the ability to prioritize multiple competing workload demands.
• Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner as defined in the Atlohsa Code of Conduct.
• Valid Ontario Driver's License, First Aid and CPR certificate and current Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the languages, traditional ways, history and cultures of the Indigenous populations in the London region.
• Strong analysis of colonialism and the ways in which historical and ongoing colonization impacts Indigenous peoples intergenerationally.




EMPLOYMENT TERM : Full-Time; Contract ending March 31, 2026 (with possibility of extension)



CLOSING DATE : March 14, 2025



REMUNERATION:


• $25 to $32.69 per hour
