Human Resources (HR) Assistant Full Time Permanent
Hybrid Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Thursdays in the office)

is seeking a full time HR Assistant to join our HR Department, with a strong possibility of being extended. Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Assistant is responsible to support the HR team by performing several talent management activities including: recruitment, selection and onboarding, police check administration, as well as WSIB claims management and return to work agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum educational requirement is a post-secondary degree / diploma / certificate in HR . Working toward the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is preferred.
A minimum of at least three years' experience within the HR environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Assistant will:
Coordinate Recruitment for OSSO's customers
All aspects of recruitment including but not limited to: job postings, advertising, screening applicants, setting up interview schedules, assisting in conducting interviews, checking references and documentation, hiring of qualified job applicants, onboarding and initial training.
Coordinates WSIB and return to work agreements for OSSO's customers
WSIB claim management and return to work agreements with employees.
Provide support and leadership to management in managing employee, WSIB claims adjudicators and physicians.

Coordinates HR Reporting and Documentation for OSSO's customer
Provide bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual HR reports to internal and external stakeholders
Ensure all HR documentation is up to date and secure
Assist with the creation of HR process documents, policies and procedures

Coordinates HR AI and other HR Enabling Technologies
Ensures competency in all HR software systems and HRIS's that OSSO uses for its clients. Stays up to date and keeps the team informed of AI advances and enabling technology to support enhance, streamline and improve HR process
Coordinate Training and Students
Sets up training opportunities for customer(s) staff in compliance with professional regulations, customer policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement
Tracks all training of staff ensuring up to date training and compliance
Provide at minimum quarterly training updates to client forecasting 12 months out
Supports students in the onboarding, training and termination processes
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Good knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines.
Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems and other related software.
Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
Salary Range
: $49,500 to $60,151
