As an employee of Treaty 8 Urban Child & Family Services, the Human Resource Assistant will provide support and professional assistance to our human resource department. The Human Resource Assistant will report to the Human Resource Manager to ensure the efficient and effective administration of the human resource department. In this position, you will create new employee files, manage employee records, organize, and update files, prepare reports, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and preparing employment contracts.
Assist with employee questions or concerns related to HR policies!
Assist with the administration of employee benefits.
Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation.
Supports human resources by scheduling appointments and interviews.
Assist in staff orientation and prepare orientation packages.
Assist and prepare information for staff evaluations.
Assist with recruitment of potential applicants.
Update online job posting requirements when needed.
Maintains employee information by updating employment and status-change data.
Coordinate HR projects such as meetings or surveys
Help organize and manage new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs.
Assist in explaining and providing information on employee benefits, programs, and education.
Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary office administration diploma/certificate
2+years in human resources preferred with 5 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention (Welfare Check - current within three months
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Office, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Knowledge & understanding of Treaty 8 First Nations community, culture and language will be an asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Preferential hiring of qualified candidates will be considered to persons of Aboriginal ancestry, particularly those with a connection with Treaty 8 territory.
