Position Overview



The Human Resources Assistant plays a vital support role at Amaranth, providing administrative and organizational assistance to the Human Resources Manager.

Priority Accountabilities



These are the outcomes the team member is accountable for, as outlined in the accountability chart. These outcomes include but are not limited to:

HR Administrative Support:

Handling general office duties such as maintaining electronic employee records and drafting documents.

?

Recruitment and Onboarding

: Assist with job postings, screen applications, schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and coordinate the onboarding process for new employees.

Employee Records:

Maintain the phone and email lists,

?

Training:

Update employee file for completed quizzes, schedule

?

Compliance & Confidentiality:

Maintain confidentiality and integrity in managing sensitive employee information and ensure documentation complies with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Secondary Accountabilities



These accountabilities support the effective completion of the Priority Accountabilities:

? Regularly remind management and team members of key HR deadlines (e.g., 100-day check-ins, performance reviews, training completion).

? Support ongoing HR projects, including creating and distributing training materials or HR related communications.

? Maintain organized and up-to-date Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) documentation, ensuring compliance standards are met.

? Facilitate inter-store communication regarding HR initiatives or training sessions.

Tactical Responsibilities



These are the processes that the team member is responsible for executing:

? Prepare HR-related documents such as employment contracts, offer letters, and disciplinary notices as requested.

? Schedule and coordinate HR-related meetings and interviews.

? Assist with onboarding and orientation logistics, including tracking completion of new hire paperwork and training.

? Support employee offboarding processes, ensuring necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Attributes:



? Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

? Strong ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

? Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

? Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, database systems).

? Knowledge of basic employment standards, HR practices, training and development, and OHS regulations is an asset.

? Previous experience in HR administration or related support role preferred.

Time Requirements:



? Part-time hourly position, approximately 12 to 16 hours per week.

? Flexible availability required for occasional emergencies or time-sensitive matters.

? Irregular inter-store travel may occasionally be required.

Basic Physical Requirements:



? Extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer.

? Occasional lifting of files or materials up to 20 lbs.

? Repetitive tasks involving typing and use of computer mouse.
