The human resources assistant is a new position within the firm and is best suited for a proactive detailed orientated main link providing administrative and operational support in various HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, health & safety, social committee, setting up meetings and compliance with Ontario employment standards. This person is the first point of contact ensuring the Human Resources and Operations Manager are not interrupted unless needed or booked and are on top of and in line with their daily schedule. This role will need to ensure they stay on top of all laws, regulations and update the Managers when there is a change. This role is ideal for an organized, proactive individual passionate about contributing to a people first culture in a dynamic heath care organization. It is their responsibility to place approved job ad's, co-ordinate with candidates booking interviews, reference checks and onboarding packages are reviewed with the new hires prior to their start date. Ensuring the on boarding documents are all sent to the new hire prior to their first day and received back in a timely manner. Reviewing and checking to ensure all information is received. The role acts as the central point of contact for internal clients such as managers, office and field staff. Ensuring seamless communications between all levels of staff.
Plays a leading role in the social committee and sits on the health and safety committee. Preparing weekly and adhoc reports. Meeting with the Human Resources Manager and in their absences, the Operation Manager, on a weekly basis to discuss challenges, acceptances, growth, disciplinary actions, hiring and terminations. This role is currently needed with 20-30 hours a week to start and increasing in the new year to full time of 40-44 hrs a week. Currently the hours will be between 20 - 30 hours a week and increasing as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone with in the HR field with less than 5 yrs experience to learn and grow.
Must have min 1+ years' experience in an admin confidential role (within the health care sector is preferred).
Must have Min. 6 months+ experience with BambooHR and BrightHR or other HRM systems
Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications including MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint, EMail, etc.
MUST have Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with Google Drive and Docs
Post secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources (HRM) or Business Admin. is an asset - Students in final year welcome
AODA Certification is a must
Exceptional people skills and be able to interface effectively with all levels of management
WSIB Certificate is an asset
Occupational Health and Safety Certification is an asset
Must be able to work independently and within a team with minimal supervision
