We are seeking a Human Resource and Safety Officer to join our team The Human Resources and Safety Officer will work closely with all team members while delivering exceptional service and support our employees
Responsibilities:
Human Resources and Health & Safety
Respond to HR and safety-related inquiries (internal and external).
Maintain employee databases and training records in line with company policy and legislation.
Document employee issues, disciplinary actions, and safety violations.
Develop and implement HR and Safety policies and procedures.
Plan and deliver employee training programs.
Coordinate performance review meetings with management.
Provide management with HR and Safety metrics for decision-making.
Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal employment and safety regulations.
Manage inventory for equipment, chemicals, and safety supplies.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and annual hazard/risk assessments.
Oversee proper use of protective equipment and safe work procedures.
Maintain fleet vehicle records and provide administrative support for GeoTab.
Procure First Aid and Safety items as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)
Organize and manage monthly JHSC walkabouts and meetings.
Review prior reports, documentation, and relevant materials.
Co-chair meetings and prepare detailed meeting reports.
Distribute and post meeting reports for management and employee awareness.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 - 2+ years experience Human Resources and/or safety management.
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in HR, Health & Safety, or a related field.
Minimum 1 - 2+ years experience Human Resources
Pursuing or holding a CHRP designation is considered an asset.
JHSC certification
(preferred).
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
Knowledge of ESA, and local safety regulations (asset).
Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
