Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada's largest Asian supermarket chain with 37 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 14 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company's continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role: Reporting to Manager, Human Resources Information System and Compensation & Benefits, the Payroll Analyst is responsible for processing payroll in compliance with statutory requirements, as well as in accordance with company policy. Working closely with our Compensation & Benefits team and counterparts in other regions, the jobholder will also be responsible for specific payroll duties as assigned, and perform other duties as required from time to time.
Major Responsibilities: Process shadow payroll partners; ensure all payroll-related employee records are set up properly and payroll entries are calculated and inputted accurately
Assist with year-end payroll processes, including preparing and distributing T4s and W2s
Partner closely with our counterparts in the US and provide support on matters related to payroll and related policies and procedures
Perform various administrative and supporting duties for the team, such as updating data in the HR information systems, etc
Maintain strict confidentiality and keep proper employee and payroll records according to statutory requirements and company policy
Provide support to internal and external payroll auditing. Answer enquiries on payroll related matters
Support the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR Department by performing any assigned duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: A college diploma/certificate or undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management is preferred; Payroll Compliance Practitioner certificate (PCP) is preferred
At least 1 year's solid experience in payroll
Knowledge of US payroll and reporting is highly preferred
Highly detail-oriented, with quick accurate keyboarding skills
Able to handle confidential information professionally and in an ethical manner
Demonstrates a keen sense of urgency and commitment to meet multiple deadlines without compromising on work quality
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
High level of integrity and ethics; able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong Microsoft Office technical skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be fluent in spoken and written English
Knowledge in Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) is an asset
