Position Summary




Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our Human Resources department.



Provides comprehensive human resources services for an assigned Health Service Delivery Area, including contract interpretation, collective agreement administration, selection advice, performance and change management advice, grievance investigation, dispute resolution facilitation and third-party hearings. Provides input into the development of human resources policy, services and programs, and works in conjunction with corporate human resources services to plan, develop and implement strategic objectives and operational plans for the assigned Health Service Delivery Area.



Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications




Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related discipline, and Five (5) to seven (7) years of human resources experience in a large, complex unionized environment, or An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Skills and Abilities:




Knowledge of current employment and labour acts and regulations and collective agreements. Knowledge of human resources best practices. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization. Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of team. Ability to foster effective working relationships, both internal and external, at all levels. Ability to lead change and manage conflict. Ability to problem solve complex issues towards creative solutions. Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities or unforeseen opportunities. Ability to make fair and consistent decisions. Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to others including managers and staff. Ability to balance multiple activities concurrently. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to operate related equipment including computer software applications.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Knowledge of current health care issues and trends. Effective mediation and facilitation skills.
