School Board is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Human Resources Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the HR Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Human Resources Advisor plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing all HR functions across the organization. This position contributes directly to the effective operation of schools and departments by fostering a climate of cooperation and providing comprehensive HR services. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative and proactive approach to human resources, offering guidance and support on staffing, recruitment, employee onboarding, benefits and pension administration, and employment-related planning. The role also supports workplace investigations, HR policy application, and internal systems development to promote consistency, efficiency, and compliance. The traditional territories of the W?SANE? are situated on beautiful Vancouver Island, approximately a 30-minute drive from Victoria, B.C. and south of Sidney B.C. The W?SANE? School Board is in Brentwood Bay on the W?JO?E?P (Tsartlip) First Nation. The W?SANE? School Board services W?JO?E?P (Tsartlip), S?AUTW? (Tsawout), BO?E?EN (Pauquachin), W?SI?EM (Tseycum) First Nations. HOURS OF WORK 8-4 Monday to Friday with the expectation of after-hours availability MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Certificate or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or equivalent education and experience Strong knowledge of human resources principles, employment standards, and HR best practices Proven leadership and decision-making skills, with a strong ability to resolve conflict Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Principals, Managers, and Directors Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion when handling confidential matters Proficient in HR software and administrative systems DESIREABLE COMPETENCIES Experience supervising or coaching staff Willingness to participate in ongoing professional training Experience in unionized or public sector environments is an asset WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard office environment within a unionized, regulated setting Compliance responsibilities include BCGEU, WorkSafe BC, and Canada Labour Code standards OTHER INFORMATION
