Ingamo Homes is a transitional program that supports women and their children fleeing violence. Ingamo Homes has twenty townhouse style transitional units, that allow families to begin rebuilding their lives in a safe and supportive environment.
Position Summary
The HR Administrator provides essential support to DASO's and Ingamo Homes human resources functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations and assisting staff and management with administrative processes. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, training coordination, and HR-related compliance, contributing to a positive and efficient workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
Maintain staff schedules, manage schedule requests, time sheets and assist with shift coverage.
Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and liaison with providers.
Prepare HR documentation, including employment contracts, promotions, amendments, terminations, and other HR-related letters.
Support HR-related investigations, including documenting processes and maintaining confidentiality.
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR records.
Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, internal policies, and union agreements.
Recruitment and Onboarding
Conduct job postings, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews.
Provide onboarding and orientation for new staff and volunteers, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
Training and Development
Coordinate mandatory training sessions, professional development opportunities, and certifications.
Track completion of training and maintain records.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Assist in maintaining HR policies, procedures, and files in compliance with legislation.
Administrative Support
Monitor emails and respond to general inquiries.
Support office administration, including ordering and maintaining office equipment and supplies.
Assist with managing donation inquiries, scheduling, and coordination of drop-offs/pick-ups.
Take minutes at meetings, including HR, staff, and committee meetings, as required.
Perform general administrative tasks as needed, providing support across the organization.
Uphold all agency policies and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's Degree is an asset.
3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a community-based organization serving vulnerable populations.
Familiarity with unionized workplaces and employment standards legislation.
Experience with benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, and HR recordkeeping.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Commitment to anti-oppression, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
Experience in a 24/7 residential support environment is an asset.
