Plainsman Clays Ltd. and Subsidiaries are seeking a skilled Human Resources Professional to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Unionized and Non-Unionized workplaces and demonstrate the ability to manage relationships between an organization and its employees.

About Employer

Plainsman Clays Ltd. is a clay mining and processing company located in Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada. Our select-mined clays have been specifically designed for pottery related uses since 1962 (mined from Montana, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba). The raw materials are processed at the plant in Medicine Hat, Alberta and prepared to be distributed to three Subsidiaries and approximately seven retail dealers throughout Canada and the United States. There are approximately thirty employees between the three Subsidiaries that are the heart of our operation.

Job Details

Permanent Part-time (21 hours per week)

Wage $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Compensation package includes health and dental benefits

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager will:

Lead and support staffing, recruitment initiatives, succession plans for retiring employees, ect.

Manage employee and labour relations, including grievance handling, contract administration, Workers Compensation administration in both British Columbia and Alberta

Assist with regards to employee compensation, benefits programs, performance reviews, ect.

Assist in coordinating and delivering employee development and training initiatives

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and workplace standards

Qualifications

CHRP designation required

Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in Human Resources

Strong knowledge of labour legislation and unionized environments

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce

Experience with benefits administration (Manulife and payroll software application - Payworks)
