Come join our team for a thriving future! Job Title: HSSE Business Support - RQ 22–51 TAQA North is currently searching for the role of HSSE Business Support. Reporting to the Manager, Health, Safety, Security and Regulatory, the successful candidate is responsible for systems, tools and processes related to the TAQA Commitment to Operational Excellence (COE) Management System. The role develops, delivers, and maintains these systems, tools, and processes for the organization. The HSSE Business Support role is responsible to provide technical health, safety, emergency response, and regulatory expertise to TAQA North business partners to ensure day to day activities are conducted in adherence with regulatory requirements and sound industry practice. As a part of this challenging role your specific responsibilities will be to:

  • Work with TAQA North business partners: Operations, Drilling & Completions, Well Services, Asset Integrity, Environment to ensure TAQA’s activities are conducted in compliance with corporate (COE) and jurisdictional requirements (OHS, AER, OGC, CER)
  • Coordinate & Chair Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC)
  • Participate in incident investigations
  • Develop and deliver HSSE communications for business partners and head office staff (safety bulletins, alerts and lessons learned)
  • Development and maintenance of standards, procedures, practices, and tools related to the COE Management System
  • Monitor & maintain external Contractor Management ComplyWorks system
  • HSSE statistical and performance analysis, trending, and preparation of corporate and reports (annual, monthly, ad-hoc)
  • Work closely with Information Technology (IT) during selection, development, implementation, and maintenance of HSSE systems
  • Develops and conducts HSSE training
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate internal and external audits such as the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program and COE
  • Monitor & maintain Emergency Response Plan (ERP) programs including ERP manuals and exercises
  • Point of contact for STARS emergency line & working alone system
The Successful Candidate will possess:
  • Minimum 5 years Health and Safety experience
  • Have or willing to work toward Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Certification
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and BC Oil & Gas Commission (OGC), Canada Energy Regulator (CER)
  • Strong communication skills, written, oral, and presenting
  • Understanding of technical writing & strong computer software skills
  • Attention to detail, excellent organization, and analytical skills
  • Professional, team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a deadline driven & fast paced environment
  • Emergency Response (ERP) experience
  • Internal and external audit experience
  • Significant experience developing and maintaining internal standards, procedures, practices, and tools
  • Significant experience development, delivering, and maintaining training programs
  • Availability to be on call
  • Ability to travel to field locations with overnight stays as required
  • Ability to work remotely
