Job Description

RothLochston provides industrial construction, maintenance and fabrication services to the oil and gas, mining, and power generation industries throughout Canada. For 25 years, we have worked hard to become an industry leader and preferred partner in the markets we serve.RothLochston is currently recruiting HSE Advisors for various locations in Newfoundland and Labrador. These positions may be located in a remote work site and will be rotational and on a contract basis.Responsibilities: To promote awareness of the HSE programHelp facilitate workplace safety and environmental inspections, JSA, JHA, THA, Toolbox Talks and Safe Work Observations for all projects, track actions and maintain documentationCoordinate safety meetings for office and project/field staffSupport management and supervisory staff in their duty to see that all tasks are completed in conformance to corporate/project HSE requirementsPromote a proactive and positive safety cultureConduct new hire safety orientationsConduct inspections of PPE, lifting equipment, etc.Ensure any follow-up actions from inspections, investigations, etc. are recorded and tracked to completionParticipate in any defined loss prevention initiativesRegularly observe work tasks to ensure conformance to corporate and project HSE requirementsHelp facilitate both internal and external audits, regulatory compliance audits and COR auditsAssist in the identification of HSE training requirements and schedule safety training for all staffAssist in the collection of HSE performance indicators, prepare and deliver reportsParticipate in the incident investigation process for any incidents, prepare detailed analysis and reportsCompletion of HSE task logs as requiredCommunication to staff of lessons learned from internal or external investigation findingsOther duties as assignedQualifications: Completion of a college diploma program or equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years in progressive HSE positions. A certified safety accreditation is preferred (CSO, CRSP, etc.), or an equivalent level of education and experience will be consideredKnowledge of the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, the WHSCC Act and regulations and NL construction related safety regulationsProficient with Microsoft Office software programsProven organizational skills and ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced dynamic environmentAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingWell-developed presentation and public speaking abilitiesIf you are ready to join a high performance, detail-oriented team, we want to hear from you.
