Location: Yellowknife, Northwest Territories (Onsite) Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Salary: $67-74K/year

Position Purpose:

Are you hungry for a new role as a Recruiter & HR Administrator in Yellowknife? Our camp management services company is looking for someone to join our exciting work environment, focusing on recruitment and selection, supporting a full recruitment cycle, and supporting human resources functions at our remote camp sites. Your responsibilities will include reviewing applications, pre-screening, conducting interviews, managing background checks and medical testing, selection of the best fit for roles, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the HR Manager, HR Recruiter & Administrator is responsible for the following:

  • Identifies personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  • Develops recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas.
  • Accepts and reviews all applications received (resumes, voicemail, referrals) on the Recruiting Database
  • Pre-screens all qualified candidates subject to the job description and minimum hiring criteria (English written and language clarity, work history, education, training, job skills, and salary etc.).
  • Contacts applicants to inform them of the status of their employment possibilities, considerations, and selection.
  • Performs interviews and hires (with authority from Human Resources Manager) for entry level, professional and technical job openings.
  • Performs all Background Check Authorization forms, to conduct reference and background checks on applicants.
  • Oversees and schedules all required medical appointments and results required for site access.
  • Evaluates recruitment and selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional, statistical, ad testing standards, recommending revision as needed.
  • Builds, networks, and sustains beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions.
  • Is the lead for providing reports from the HR Database such as Turnover Reports, Vacancy Reports, Employment statistics.
  • Ensures effective exit interviews and provides management with analysis and recommendations.
  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Acts as the HR liaison with all sites and visits each site at least 3 times/year.
  • Writes and issues any formal HR documentation such as rejection letters, employment verifications, written warnings, missed flight letter, terminations, etc.
  • Builds strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performs all HR administration transactions required for all worksites.
  • Perform investigations under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager
  • Perform other special projects as assigned.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in various HR functions supporting HR best practices during the selection and onboarding process.
  • Adaptable: Quick response to dynamic and changing environments.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with senior management crafting the organization\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy
  • Developing strategic HR policies, procedures, and plans (e.g., recruitment, compensation, training etc.).
  • Hiring, guiding, and evaluating the performance of the HR department.
  • Analyzing the success of HR operations and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring all policies, procedures follow legal regulations/legislature.
  • Re-engineering HR processes to ensure maximum HR function efficiency.
