Summary

The HR Operations Student at BlackBerry is a highly valued HR team member who plays an integral role in facilitating employment transactions and providing operational support within a leading IoT and Cyber security company. We offer a collaborative and fast-paced environment, handling instrumental tasks that contribute to the success of the organization.

This role presents a great opportunity for a student with real interest for a career in Human Resources to experience a broad range of HR operational activities.

Work Location: Waterloo office

Length of Term: 4 months

You will:

Prepare documentation and process staffing transactions related to the employees\' life cycle events (e.g. Transfers, Contract Extensions, Terminations) within BlackBerry\xe2\x80\x99s HR Information System.

Process reimbursements, one-time payments, and verification of employment requests.

Educate employees and leaders on BlackBerry\xe2\x80\x99s policies and programs, guiding users to readily available resources and information.

Provide cross-functional support to assist with the delivery of HR solutions & services.

Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives to support the business needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a post-graduate HR certificate program or an undergraduate degree with three (3) years of studies completed, with a co-op or internship requirement in the field of Human Resources or Business.

Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, SharePoint and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with an HRIS or database management system is an asset.

A keen learner, with a high degree of motivation and willingness to adopt challenges, acquire knowledge, develop skills, and learn new systems & technologies.

Shown customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills working both independently and in a team.

Handle issues in a positive and friendly manner when dealing with all levels of employees.

Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and balance multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Maintain confidentiality and critical personal employees\' information.
