POSITION OVERVIEW





We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Manager oversees all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, training, and compliance. This role serves as a strategic partner to management, ensuring that HR practices support the organization's goals and foster a positive, productive workplace culture. Reporting to the CEO, your role in this position is helping shape a Central Canada HR presence, while partnering with the Universal Group of Companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES





Recruitment and Staffing


Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for all positions Develop effective job postings, interview processes, and selection criteria Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and workforce planning




Employee Relations


Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and workplace issues Investigate and resolve employee concerns in a fair and consistent manner Promote a positive organizational culture based on trust, accountability, and respect




Performance Management and Development


Oversee annual performance review processes Support leadership in identifying training and development opportunities Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention

Compensation and Benefits


Administer salary structures, pay adjustments, and benefit programs Ensure compliance with applicable compensation and labor laws Collaborate with finance on HR budgeting and payroll coordination

Policy and Compliance


Maintain up-to-date HR policies and ensure compliance with employment standards and legislation Advise management on HR best practices, workplace safety, and diversity initiatives Ensure accurate and confidential employee recordkeeping

HR Systems and Reporting


Maintain HRIS systems and generate reports to support data-driven decision-making Track HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and training effectiveness

Leadership


Provide day-to-day guidance to HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition Specialists Perform performance reviews for team members and coach on performance improvement Build a positive culture within the department that leads to trust, engagement, and high performance



QUALIFICATIONS






Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field HR certification (e.g., CPHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred 5+ years of progressive HR experience Deep understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others at all levels of the organization Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business results Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to change



HOURS OF WORK





The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
