As the Human Resources Manager you are critical in developing and executing business and cross-functional strategies that align with Mapletri's vision and objectives, while enhancing our HR best practices. You will be the sole leader and driver of the below responsibilities.
General Responsibilities:
Communication Abroad: Maintain close relationship with China to recruit new employees, speak with suppliers, and conduct business needs as required, OR the ability to connect to a body in China who can do so
Recruitment & Onboarding: Facilitate recruitment processes, screening candidates, interviewing, smooth onboarding of new hires, manage staffing needs, coordinate HR restructuring
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution: Be the point of contact for employee concerns, address workplace issues, resolve conflicts, and empower a positive organizational culture
Employee Analysis: Assess employee suitability, their work quality and ethics, monitor attendance and timesheets, develop and analyze employee productivity reports, audit and translate timesheets into accurate payroll
Office Management: oversee office operations, ensure safe and healthy working environments at all locations
Procurement & Vendor Management: handle vendor relations as required
Well-Rounded Team Member: Work closely with and report to the COO
Other: Including but not limited to the above tasks, as needed and reasonably expected from full-scale HR Manager
Can Execute, OR Facilitate Outsourced HR to Execute, the following:
Payroll Processing & Reconciliation: handle all payroll and compensation matters including but not limited to required contributions, employee benefits, paid days off, etc. Develop framework for and periodically audit payroll, claims, benefits, compensation, as required
Performance Management: Prepare and facilitate a performance management system
Training & Development: Identify training and development needs, coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with all labour laws, employee laws, company policies, and regulations. Maintain updated employee records and conduct HR audits within the company
Corporate Development: share corporate culture, formulate Employee Handbooks, Codes, Ethics, frameworks, shape positive corporate culture to align to compliance
Strategic Partnership: Provide employee and labour relations advice, assist in corporate operational goal achievements through clear policy and legislation interpretation and compliance
Qualifications:
CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
3-5 years of HR managerial role experience with progressive HR experience ideally in business partner or advisory role, especially in large, complex and multi-stakeholder environments
Outstanding knowledge of Canadian HR laws, Employee laws, Labour Laws, Human Rights, HR Practices, Ethics, and Regulations. The same knowledge for China Immigration HR/Employee/Labour laws is an asset.
Familiarity with various HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Dayforce) as well as payroll systems like ADP or Ceridian is highly desirable
Expert in maintaining the entire large corporate to conform with employee laws
Expert in conflict resolution and HR-related matters using peoples strategy: including but not limited to processing collective agreement interpretations, handle contract issues and work place situations, driving talent outcomes
Resourceful ability to resolve matters independently while using appropriate judgment to seek guidance as needed
Skilled in organizational design, change management, and talent development
Comfortable navigating fast-paced, high-change environments with a strategic and solutions-oriented mindset
Proven ability to lead and manage both HR and administrative functions
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Great intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, team player, understands the tasks on hand. Communicates well, hard working on different sites as needed
