Escape Fire Protection Ltd. has been a trusted leader in fire sprinkler contracting since 2004, delivering high-quality installations, inspections, and design services across BC. With established divisions in Construction, Service, Small Projects, Fabrication, and Administration, we continue to grow and expand our capabilities.
As we scale, one of our biggest priorities is building a strong and sustainable people foundation. We are now establishing a dedicated HR department and are looking for an experienced HR Manager who can take ownership of HR across the company.
This is a strategic and hands-on role for someone who is confident building HR processes, improving recruiting outcomes, and supporting leadership in developing our people and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Lead full-cycle recruiting for field and office roles including fitters, service technicians, estimators, project managers, and administrative staff.
Build proactive sourcing strategies, industry outreach, and relationships with trade schools.
Improve and manage a consistent pipeline that reduces average time-to-hire.
Onboarding & Training
Oversee the full onboarding process, including 30/60/90-day check-ins.
Build structure around our internal training initiatives, including Escape University and leadership development programs.
HR Systems, Processes & Compliance
Create and implement HR SOPs, documentation, and standardized processes.
Manage HR software, employee files, and compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate, organized employee records across all divisions.
Performance, Culture & Employee Support
Support managers with performance documentation, attendance issues, and accountability processes.
Implement a structured performance review program.
Reinforce Escape Fire's culture of professionalism, high standards, and team growth.
Strategic HR Leadership
Contribute to workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development.
Support the company as we continue to grow and expand our operations.
Qualifications
5-10+ years of HR experience, ideally within construction, trades, manufacturing, or similar environments.
Demonstrated success recruiting for hard-to-fill roles.
Strong communication skills with the ability to support both office and field teams.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of building systems from the ground up.
Professional, confidential, and confident managing sensitive HR matters.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.
