Position Summary

We are currently seeking a permanent full time People & Culture (P&C) Coordinator. The role will report to and support the Senior Generalist with administrative functions as well as support the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist (STAS) with recruitment-related activities. This is a hybrid role, and attendance at the Sheppard office will be required on a weekly basis, and is subject to change based on the needs of the team and the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new hires and offboard departing employees
  • Maintain employee virtual files
  • Assist with drafting offer letters
  • Assist with monthly reports to benefit providers
  • Assign legislative training to new hires using the HR Downloads platform
  • Update the People & Culture SharePoint site
  • Assist with the organization and facilitation of various social events (firm-wide dinners, fun days etc.)
  • Ad-hoc reporting as requested
  • General HR administration (including but not limited to: booking calendar invites, conducting reference checks, as well as spreadsheet management for recruitment tracking
  • Participate as a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
  • At the request of the VP, P&C and Senior Generalist, research employment law within the different provinces
  • Work on firm-wide communication updates
  • Work with marketing team to ensure company website is up to date with current employee information
  • Assist in pre-screening resumes to ensure applicants meet minimum job requirements
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates to support continuous recruitment
  • Respond to applicants regarding status, and all other recruitment related application questions
  • Keep up to date with employment law and the latest HR trends and best practices
  • Other tasks, projects and duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of previous HR and recruitment experience required
  • CHRP or in the process of obtaining CHRP an asset
Qualifications
  • Strong computer literacy and experience using MS Office applications required (Word, Outlook, Excel with a strong emphasis on using SharePoint and PowerPoint)
  • Experienced with using an applicant resume tracking system and job boards
  • Solid understanding of internal and external recruitment workflows in order to support the STAS and the overall recruitment process
  • Excellent time management skills and capacity to take direction
  • Ability to work and think independently
  • Multitasks and works on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
