Scope

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will be an integral part of our team. We are looking for someone who is driven, self-motivated, and passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience.

Reporting to our Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for supporting all areas of HR, including recruitment systems, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, reporting, health and safety, and employee engagement. You will have the chance to develop, maintain, and evaluate administrative processes and systems for effective and efficient human resource activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support for the full range of HR functions for Denny's Canada. Develop, maintain, and evaluate administrative processes and systems for effective and efficient human resource activities. Provide information and guidance on HR practices, processes, and policies; and promote HR strategies and company initiatives. Facilitate efficient new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience. Coordinate internal engagement initiatives to promote an exceptional, inclusive employee experience. Assist in the preparation and analysis of HR data and metrics. Support the HR Department with the development and administration of HR led training and development programs. Support the development and execution of new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve employee experience. Assist the HR department with all recruitment related activities. Build strong relationships with local organizations, recruitment agencies and educational institutions to enable Dencan Restaurants to achieve business objectives. Deliver recruitment support, focusing on national-level systems and job fair guidance. Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates. Organize and facilitate employee information meetings on employment policy, benefits and compensation and actively participate on various joint committees. Provide resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, compensation, staffing initiatives, performance management and employee relations Analyze statistical data and reports to identify causes of problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices. Administer workplace investigations as needed. Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems. Assist in the development and implementation of programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

5 years of work experience with a minimum of 2 years experience working in Human Resources or a related field. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Strength in all Microsoft Office products. Strong written and oral communications, especially pertaining to communicating sensitive information. Experience maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. An introductory understanding of Canadian Provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety standards is an asset. Experience working in the hospitality industry considered an asset.
