Job Description

Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the position of Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the HR team by undertaking a variety of administrative tasks in all areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, training, onboarding, employee inquiries, and data entry.Human Resources Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee lifecycle processes such as recruitment, screening, selection, onboarding, offboarding, personnel data changes and other various status changes; schedule interviews; conduct reference checks.
  • Facilitate HR processes by completing entry of new hires and employee status changes in the HRIS or applicable databases
  • Working in close conjunction with Payroll and Finance, ensure all payroll changes are accurately recorded and processed; respond to any initial payroll queries.
  • Monitor and provide timely responses to employee inquiries via the HR Helpdesk and internal/external inquiries, redirecting appropriate team members as required.
  • Provide project support to the Human Resources team in executing operational and strategic organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copies of employee files.
  • Prepare, on an ad hoc basis, reports in support of HR services, projects, or initiatives.
  • Ensure the consistent interpretation and application of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines across the organization.
  • Complete applications for Canada Summer Jobs
  • Prepare and provide employment verifications
  • Develop interview question
  • Manage practicum student placement and support
  • Additional administrative duties, as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 1-3 years' experience in an HR-related supportive role (HR Administrator, HR Assistant, HR Coordinator).
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources and/or Business Administration.
  • Experience working within an HRIS system is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Employment Standards legislation, policies, and practices is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and comprehension skills.
  • Proven ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the business.
  • Continuous learner who is willing to embrace change and work with a high degree flexibility and adaptability to take on additional tasks.
